My Experience at Thom Bargen, Winnipeg, Manitoba

This is a blog series I am going to start doing more of, because there is so many great places to try in Winnipeg, which you must experience. Today’s experience was that of Thom Bargen, a coffee and tea shop on Sherbrook, which is a booming street in Winnipeg, with a lot of great minds working together to make it one of the next great strips in Winnipeg, I have lived in the area for some time now, and I have witnessed the progression of the West Broadway area from day one, and it is a very positive look to the face of the area, and anyone from Winnipeg should come and look at this coffee and tea shop along with a lot of the other newer businesses going up along the strip.
Thom Bargen is definitely a unique experience, with their outstanding coffee and service, lively atmosphere, along with a modern look, with a slight touch of vintage, which is perfect for today’s society, and I believe it is going to be one of the faces of West Broadway and the surrounding area.

Classic Car Show, a different kind of art.

I went to Carman, Manitoba recently for my families annual baseball tournament we host, and on the Sunday of July 7, 2013. I love the classic car world, because there is such craftsmanship that goes into classic cars, from the chrome grills, to the paint colors. Every car is unique, from the Model T’s to the Camaro’s, they are all beautiful cars in there own way, and the sounds of the engines are unheard in any other car. Car shows are a place to experience the past through the means of classic cars, and if there is a classic car show in your neighbourhood, you should for sure go check it out and experience a culture of classic cars and car dealers. Going there you will meet so many interesting people, and they will be able to tell you anything about there cars, or other cars in the area, going anywhere that is outside of your comfort zone, will open your mind to so much more than you would ever thought you could learn. I have found a new passion and respect for classic cars and the people involved in them, there is great time and care put into them, classic cars are a form of art, on a different platform than usual. This is an art experience from the past that you can hear, feel and see, through the passion of the owners time and care put into the car and the beauty of the cars themselves.

Lucking Memorial Slo-Pitch Baseball Tournament First Duck Race

This is an annual family held Co-Ed Slow Pitch Baseball Tournament in Carman, Manitoba to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, because of Breast Cancer affecting our family this is the ninth year we have held this tournament, in the nine years raising over $50 000. We have done so many events at the tournament to raise money, but this is the first year we have done this duck race, this duck race was a very unique idea worked out with the town of Carman and the Carman Fire Department. How it worked was you bought a duck for $5.00 and you get a number that corresponds with your duck, and the first 3 win, the amounts for first, second and third place. After the race was all done, the 3 people that won, donated there money back which was very good of them, and we thank them very much for their support.

Thank you very much to every one who participated in the tournament and to the town of Carman for being so supportive.

Lets find a cure.

A quick walk in the Exchange District

I am Justin Garychuk, Entrepreneur and Explorer, and I took a quick hour walk in the Exchange District in downtown Winnipeg, seeing a couple great stores and meeting some very interesting people. The stores include hutK and Jose and Markham, some very interesting stores, with a modern yet vintage/classic look, which is a very classy look. These are the only 2 stores I checked out today, but I definitely will be checking out a lot more stores in the Exchange District, it was an all around great experience and I recommend checking these places and the surrounding area out to anyone.
I have learned the best way to expand your mind, is to just go out for a walk in a new place and meet new people, your mind will experience new things and hear new things that you never would hear on a daily basis. I went out and expanded my mind in my own city, with a 15 minute walk to a new area of my city, which is proving that you don’t have to go far from home to experience something new and different. I believe that one of the keys to your life being healthy and fulfilling is experiencing new things that you would not on a daily basis, and I plan on doing this throughout my every day life, to increase my well being.
