See The Art & Craftsmanship Of The Past

See The Art & Craftsmanship Of The Past

The lost times of craftsmanship and art that were put into every piece of product off of the assembly line of the past, is preserved in the likes of tin goods from the early ages. One beautiful piece I just uncovered is an Old Virginia Tobacco Tin from 1915, in excellent condition showing its age through the colors and quality of the tin.
If you would like to own this piece of history or anything else from this time period:

Vintage Service Station Canadian History In Hiding

Vintage Service Station Canadian History In Hiding

This is just a small sample of the beautiful little pieces I pulled out of a barn over the past weekend, along with some Veedol, Red Head Motor Oil, British American Oil, Caterpillar Tractor Cans and lots more. As soon as I started finding all of these little treasures, I couldn’t help myself but to enjoy and see into the past through the artwork and look of these long last oil cans.

These are from a past time, when service stations were run with passion, loyalty and customer service, which is not seen often to this day and age. These oil cans speak there age and I am loving every minute of this unique find, I will never stop looking for the next interesting find in the back countries of our amazing country full of unique items.

Unique items and collectibles are all around us, we must just utilize our imaginations and efforts to come across such items.

I am a buyer and seller to support my collecting habits, so if you are interested in starting your own collection or continuing your collection, take a look at my eBay advertisements and take a glance through my advertisements, and you might find something that you like.

1 Small Step Can Lead To Big Things

1 Small Step Can Lead To Big Things

The topic of everyone’s discussions these days, seems to be how to change the course of the universe, and quite frankly; that is impossible, all we can really do, is, accept the fact that we cannot fully change or reverse the path, but we have the possibilities and resources of creating a better path along the way, until we reach the end. What it takes is each and every single human being on this planet doing their part to give back to the Earth and to their fellow man, like you and I All it takes to get the ball rolling, is 1 person at a time doing their part to give back, and getting 1 person to join along with them, and I promise, we will start creating a better place for us all, even just the simplest things that are right in front of our faces, such as recycling, it just takes 1.

I love the notion of doing good, and giving back to anyone trying to create a better world for us all, so I noticed one company in particular in my city, Reassured Lifestyle Designs who has been producing clothing for just over a year now, and they decided to change it up a bit with one item.

I am not talking about changing a design or the quality of the product, I am talking about making a change behind the meaning, motive and soul purpose of the item; and this item was a very unique pink tank top.

This pink tank top was made to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a very well known cause, and a portion of the sales from this tank top are going to support the good cause of Breast Cancer Research.

When I talk of people doing their part in the world, this is one of those examples, of someone or in this case a company doing their part to give back to a good cause, with the bettering of man-kind in their minds and hearts. Because they are still a smaller company, there is a lot more to come from them, and this is just showing people that doing something little, can lead to something larger than originally anticipated.

This is just a small example of someone giving back to the world we all live in, so if everyone can pitch in just one good deed when they can, small things will add up in the end, and in turn will lead to having a positive impact.

My Experience at Thom Bargen, Winnipeg, Manitoba

This is a blog series I am going to start doing more of, because there is so many great places to try in Winnipeg, which you must experience. Today’s experience was that of Thom Bargen, a coffee and tea shop on Sherbrook, which is a booming street in Winnipeg, with a lot of great minds working together to make it one of the next great strips in Winnipeg, I have lived in the area for some time now, and I have witnessed the progression of the West Broadway area from day one, and it is a very positive look to the face of the area, and anyone from Winnipeg should come and look at this coffee and tea shop along with a lot of the other newer businesses going up along the strip.
Thom Bargen is definitely a unique experience, with their outstanding coffee and service, lively atmosphere, along with a modern look, with a slight touch of vintage, which is perfect for today’s society, and I believe it is going to be one of the faces of West Broadway and the surrounding area.

A quick walk in the Exchange District

I am Justin Garychuk, Entrepreneur and Explorer, and I took a quick hour walk in the Exchange District in downtown Winnipeg, seeing a couple great stores and meeting some very interesting people. The stores include hutK and Jose and Markham, some very interesting stores, with a modern yet vintage/classic look, which is a very classy look. These are the only 2 stores I checked out today, but I definitely will be checking out a lot more stores in the Exchange District, it was an all around great experience and I recommend checking these places and the surrounding area out to anyone.
I have learned the best way to expand your mind, is to just go out for a walk in a new place and meet new people, your mind will experience new things and hear new things that you never would hear on a daily basis. I went out and expanded my mind in my own city, with a 15 minute walk to a new area of my city, which is proving that you don’t have to go far from home to experience something new and different. I believe that one of the keys to your life being healthy and fulfilling is experiencing new things that you would not on a daily basis, and I plan on doing this throughout my every day life, to increase my well being.
